Membership
Members of the YMCA/YWCA Zurich are individual members or group members (Statutes, Art. 8)
Anyone over the age of 16 can be an individual member. To become a member, fill out the application form (available for download below) including a reason for joining. The central board will decide the acceptance of new individual members (Statutes, Art. 9)
The membership fee is CHF 100 per year (as of 2012). The central board can reduce the membership fee for active members.
Individual membership
Individual members profess to the principles of the YMCA and YWCA, as follows:
YMCA: "The Young Men's Christian Associations aim to connect young men who recognise Jesus Christ as their God and Saviour according to Scripture, who beleive in Him and want to be His disciples, who want to spread His kingdom among other young men."
YWCA: "Faith in God the Father, his son Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour , and in the Holy Spirit, revealer of truth, source of all our strength for life and service, as God's Word teaches."
Individual members respect the guiding principles and of the YMCA/YWCA Switzerland (Statutes, Art. 9).
Active membership
Active members are individual members who actively invest their time in the YMCA/YWCA Zurich within the scope of their personal capabilities. Active members are responsible for the activities and events of the association. They serve other as volunteers, in the scope of their personal capabilities and in agreement with the general managers of the YMCA/YWCA Zurich.
Active members promote the aims of the YMCA/YWCA Zurich through their volunteer work (Statutes, Art. 10)
Group membership
Group membership is suitable for YMCA/YWCA groups and associations within the city of Zurich, as well as other organisations who actively support and take part in the work of the YMCA/YWCA Zurich and/or want to help shape the work of Cevi Zentrum Glockenhof.
Applications for group membership can be made to the central board. Acceptance of new group members is decided by the general assembly (Statutes, Art. 12).
