Almost every day we step into our club house, push open the massive entrance doors and wonder what will happen today. No two days are the same, and we embrace that. For the most part, these unforeseen encounters are at the core of our work: Encounters and relationships with people of all ages and walks of life.
What you might not see from the outside is how many hours we invest in relationships with all of the people around us, even if it's not within a defined offer or project. Big and small stories and encounters that happen between people, and can't be neatly summarised into an end-of-year review. Prayers and contacts that happen because of our faith in God and people, and because we try our best to live out our faith in charity. That's what thrills us about our work.

I've been connected to the YMCA/YWCA since I was little -- through Scouting and Ten Sing. I already worked for the YMCA/YWCA Zurich from 2004 - 2007. I'm fascinated by the things that are possible in the YMCA. Now, almost 15 years later, I'm back to working here at the office. I'm so thrilled to see what has grown in that time, and I'm looking forward to putting my talent for organisation to good use for the YMCA.

Since the first grade, I've been closely involved with the YMCA/YWCA. My last internship for my education as a Social Deacon / Community Animation Worker was with the YMCA/YWCA Zurich, and I liked it here so much that I decided to stay longer-term. Today, my duties include coordinating our recurring events. I love working together with our volunteers, and the day-to-day life at the YMCA/YWCA Zurich, where there's something new happening every day.

In the middle of the hectic center of Zurich, we want to create an oasis where people can be accepted for who they are.
In Armenia, where we've had a partner YMCA for the past 15 years, they say that every guest is a gift from God. This is my conviction as well, and I always find it fascinating to see what people God sends to our house.

No matter if it's making animal noises with little kids till my throat is sore, or asking experienced people uestions about life over a cup of coffee -- my enjoyment of personal contact never misses at the YMCA Zurich. I'm very much looking forward to spending my internship here until I start studying at the Zurich University of Teacher Education, and making great memories at this very human spot in the middle of Zurich.

I love to work with people. I find it fascinating to hear news from all around the world, from different sources and to compare them. I also enjoy hiking and riding my bicycle.
Walking with Jesus for me means learning to let go of my caution and encounter people openly. It would be my pleasure to meet you

"Turn your passion into a job, and you won't have to work for the rest of your life" As a kid, I never would have thought, that I would one day succeed in this. Here I can expect an everchanging everyday life and above all, the joy of working with people, follows me throughout the day.
